Ya se Leer 2017

Celebration of First Graders’s major achievement of the year!

All school comes together to greet the First Graders as they officially are recognized as literate, when they know how to read in Spanish and English. The party “Ya se leer”/”I Know how to read” is the occasion when every student, teachers and administrative staff are invited to wear a costume that represents a writer, poet or fiction character.

This year, writer and journalist Lesbia Espinoza will be reading to the children audience fragments of her book “La chicharra cantora”, signing and giving one book to each child. This celebration takes place to honor The Book Day that remembers the contribution of Shapespeare and Miguel de Cervantes to Literature worldwide.
